FICTION: Plot SynopsisFiction is a low-budget horror film currently in post-production from Familiar Studios. Written & Directed by Ryan Lieske and produced by his brother and moviemaking partner, Josh Lieske, Fiction tells the story of Caitlin Frost, a newly published horror writer who's stories may, or may not, be coming to life. Mourning the death of her friend and occasional lover, Orson (who was murdered during a violent altercation at a party he and Caitlin were attending), Caitlin finds herself slowly losing her grip on her life and sanity as she begins to realize that the stories she writes and discards may have more power than she ever thought. Don is the best friend that attempts to help her hold onto her wits as her life spirals into emotional darkness, but he is secretly in love with her and finds it increasingly difficult to deny his feelings. Richard is an enigmatic young man who meets Caitlin one day while she is visiting Orson's grave. Richard is charming, if a bit creepy. See, he likes to haunt cemeteries, taking pictures of the gravestones. And, unbeknown to Caitlin, he has an even darker pastime: he is a murderer. He cuts the throats of his victims and as they die, he snaps pictures of them, in the hopes of catching their spirits, on film, as they leave their bodies. And, someone else has also entered the picture: Orson, himself. He has returned from the grave, with no memories, only vestiges of the life he lead before being killed. Orson knows he knows Caitlin from somewhere, but from where? And why? And why is it that Richard's victims have appeared to Orson, urging him to bring Caitlin before them, whom they claim is responsible for their deaths? This is Fiction: a scary little tale that promises to tickle your spine, while exposing the twisted, sometimes black heart of human emotion. It also delves into the frightening power of creativity, and how art created out of pain and regret can either quell the demons, or set them free. |
